Our story
The beginnings of Poliplet date back to 1967, when Ivo and Danica Šoštarič, with modest funds and a great vision, laid the foundation for the company, which today is one of the leading producers of nets and ropes in Slovenia.
Today, the family business is run by their daughter,Marina Kranjčec, which, with respect for tradition and a modern outlook, directs the company towards development, stability and the future.
In 2024, the third generation joined Poliplet – a daughterCynthia, who takes care of development, marketing and general affairs and adds new ideas and energy to the company.

Poliplet timeline
1967 – Entrepreneurial beginnings
Ivo and Danica Šoštarič start their journey in Preloge near Slovenska Bistrica.
1974 – Moving to Slovensko Bistrica
The company moves to Trubarjevo ulica and starts operating under the name Poliplet.
1991 – Expansion of the program
Production expands to networks, which strengthens the company’s position.
1995 – Joining of Marina Šoštarič (now Kranjčec), daughter of the founder
Modernization and development of a new generation of management begins.
2003 – Purchase of the company Mega-Poliplet Zagreb
Expansion of presence and capacity in the regional market.
2004 – New premises in Slovenska Bistrica
Due to the increase in demand, part of the production was moved to Kolodvorska Street.
2007 – Expansion with the company Totra Ljubljana
The laces program has been added, rounding off the range of textile solutions.
2020 – Obtaining a building permit
For future investment in a modern facility.
2021 – Start of construction
Construction of new production and business premises.
September 2024 - Entry of the third generation
Sintija joins the company.
October 2024 – Moving to new premises
Polyplet moves to modern premises that combine tradition and innovation.
